GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A mother and man out of Oregon were arrested in Grant County for abducting her two children.
According to the Washington County sheriff, deputies were investigating a reported kidnapping in Portland of a two-year-old and three-year-old from their legal guardian.
Law enforcement determined the suspect was the children’s biological mother, 26-year-old Trayviana Shoulders. Shoulders does not have legal custody of her kids. An Amber alert was issued just before midnight Monday.
During the investigation, deputies learned Shoulders was traveling in a stolen vehicle with a man, 29-year-old Adan Osman Abdi.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, WSP and GCSO located the vehicle around 2:20 a.m. on Silica Road Northwest near George.
Troopers chased the vehicle and used the PIT maneuver to pin the vehicle when it had slowed.
Shoulders and Abdi were both arrested, and the two children were located safe and taken into protective custody.
Abdi faces charges for eluding and driving the stolen vehicle. Shoulders faces a court order violation and other charges in Oregon.
