POST FALLS, Idaho — The Coeur d’Alene Resort Spa showed its appreciation for veterans Wednesday with the delivery of an over $2,800 check to the Idaho State Veterans Home in Post Falls.
The donation comes from proceeds earned during an event at the spa on Veterans Day earlier this month.
“They have served us and done so much for our community so it’s our turn to have our community give back to them,” said Cally King from the Coeur d’Alene Resort Spa.
The money will go toward haircuts, bingo, parties and other activities for the 59 veterans living at the facility.
“The veterans really appreciate it,” said Len Crosby, the treasurer for the North Idaho Veterans Assistance League. “It makes it a much more meaningful experience than they would simply have if it was just a standard nursing home.”
The fundraiser was called “Massage for a Cause” and the resort said it hopes to do it again next year.
