LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. — Police were dispatched to Ridgeline High School Friday morning for a ‘swatting’ call.
Swatting is a hoax used to solicit a large law enforcement response to a location.
According to Liberty Lake Police, a person called law enforcement said they were a crisis support staff member.
The caller told police an individual messaged them online and said they were armed with an AR-15 rifle and a Glock pistol in a bathroom at the school.
The caller also told police the individual made statements about intending to harm multiple people.
According to the Central Valley School District, the school was briefly under lock down for about 20 minutes while police searched the building.
Liberty Lake police did not locate any armed individuals or weapons on campus.
LLPD says while there is no active threat, the incident is still under investigation.
