SPOKANE, Wash. — More than 500 people participated in the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s at GESA Pavilion on Saturday morning. The 2-mile walk raised funds for Alzheimer’s disease and all forms of dementia.
The event began with a ceremony at 10:30 a.m., followed by the walk. Participants carried Promise Garden flowers, with each color representing their personal connection to Alzheimer’s, whether they are caregivers, survivors, or supporters of someone affected by the disease.
Organizers were pleased with the turnout.
“Very good turnout. We’re blessed to have a beautiful day. We just moved under this venue space this year, so I think it really brought the crowds. But it was a perfect day,” said Jordan Hunter, development manager for the event.
Participants who raised more than $100 received an official Walk to End Alzheimer’s t-shirt. The event has collected more than $147,000 of their $170,000 goal, with donations accepted here through December 31st.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held annually in more than 600 communities across the United States.
