SPOKANE — Terrain, the Inland Northwest’s premier multimedia art and music showcase, returns this week with its largest exhibition to date, featuring work from 523 local artists across multiple mediums.
The free community event runs October 1-2 at the historic Jensen Byrd Warehouse, 314 West Riverside. The preview event kicks off Thursday at 6 p.m. and costs $25, while the main event begins Friday at 5 p.m. and is free to attend.
This year’s show will display more than 1,000 unique works spanning photography, poetry, music, painting, interactive art and film. The event celebrates artists of all skill levels and welcomes attendees of all ages.
“It is so important to have nights like this for artists to feel part of a community because sometimes it can feel a little separated and a little bit lonely,” said Carly Ellis, an installation artist who has participated in Terrain for four years. “It’s just really a time to celebrate your talents.”
Last year’s 16th annual event drew 10,044 attendees traveling from as far away as California, Nevada, New Mexico and Virginia. The 2025 event featured 483 artists and resulted in $86,237 in art sales, with 196 original artworks and 1,000 prints sold.
The event’s success extends beyond attendance and sales figures. A team of 113 volunteers contributed 938 hours of their time to make last year’s event possible.
