CHEWELAH, Wash. — A two car collision on Highway 395, three miles south of Chewelah killed two people Wednesday morning.
The crash happened just before 11:30 a.m. and was blocking the north bound lane.
The Washington State Patrol said a southbound 1995 Nissan Altima crossed the centerline and struck a northbound 1999 Subaru Legacy head-on. The Nissan rolled and came to rest on the northbound shoulder.
A 50-year-old Seattle man driving the Nissan and a 55-year-old Fruitland woman riding in the Subaru died at the scene. The Subaru driver, a 69-year-old Fruitland man, was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
