Cloudy skies are back, but only for one day. Considerable warmth and sunshine are headed our way for the first weekend of October.
Highs on Thursday reach the upper 60s and low 70s despite the increasing clouds as the day goes on. A few showers are possible in the North Cascades and along the international border, but it will remain dry elsewhere today.
Tonight will start overcast but turn mostly clear by the early morning. Temperatures in sheltered northern valleys will drop into the mid-30s, leading to isolated frost, while the Spokane area will dip into the mid-40s.
Highs climb well into the 70s on Friday with ample sunshine as high pressure takes command of our weather. Temperatures will rise through the weekend, hitting the upper 70s and low 80s Sunday and Monday afternoons. These will be the warmest days, although it will remain dry and not that much cooler all of next week.
