SPOKANE, Wash. — If you have been affected by recent wildfires in Washington, you might be eligible for emergency cash assistance through the Department of Social and Health Services.
DSHS says the disaster cash assistance program is available to people in Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Okanogan, Spokane, Stevens and Yakima Counties as well as the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, and Spokane Tribe of Indians.
In order to qualify, you must live in an area that’s been declared a disaster, suffered losses, be unable to live in their home due to the disaster, meet certain income requirements and do not qualify for other cash assistance programs through DSHS.
The monthly benefit amount depends on your household size, income and need.
You can apply for this program online by clicking here or head to your local mobile office or Community Services Office.
