SPOKANE, Wash — The federal trial for former Spokane County Sheriff Sergeant Clay Hilton is delayed until February 2027.
The trial was originally scheduled for October 10th, 2026, and will now take place on February 16th, 2027.
Hilton’s team requested the delay to allow more preparation ahead of the trial.
Hilton is charged with deprivation of rights under color of law and falsification of records in a federal investigation in relation to a 2023 arrest.
Hilton was recently found not guilty in a criminal trial of assaulting the man he was trying to arrest in the same case.
