HOPE, Idaho — A stretch of Highway 200 in Bonner County near Hope is back open following a deadly crash early Thursday morning.
The crash occurred around 5:15 a.m. when an 82-year-old driver veered off the roadway, down an embankment and crashed into the water below, according to the Idaho State Police.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The crash is still under investigation, and the name of driver has not yet been released.
