SPOKANE, Wash – A project will get underway soon in Manito Park to make one of the most treasured areas in the Spokane landmark more accessible.
Friends of Manito, a non-profit that supports Manito Park, announced it will fund a new ADA-accessible ramp connecting the Gaiser Conservatory to the Duncan Garden.
The group says this is the first step to make the space more welcoming for visitors of all ages and abilities.
Duncan Garden is a sunken portion of Manito Park, designed in a classic European Renaissance style. The three acre garden is filled each year with colorful annuals.
Friends of Manito has not yet announced a timeline for the project, but plan to build the ramp on the northwest portion of the garden.
