SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Bear Lake Regional Park will be closed to the public tomorrow as search and rescue crews work to try and find a paddleboarder who went missing on Friday.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the paddleboarder is presumed drowned at this point.
Search conditions in the area remain hazardous, with low visibility and large amounts of silt, vegetation and other hazards in the lake.
The sheriff’s office says emergency crews will be using technology to scan the lake while search and rescue and K9 partners try to determine a more specific search area.
Search efforts will be constantly evaluated until the paddleboarder can be recovered and returned to his family and friends.
