PEND OREILLE COUNTY, Wash. — A small plane crashed at the Sullivan Lake Airport in Pend Oreille County on Monday.
According to Pend Oreille County Fire District 2, the pilot came in fast, bounced on landing, and crashed.
Crews were on the scene within minutes, pulled the battery from the plane, contained a minor oil leak, and helped the pilot get on his way.
Fire District 2 says the pilot was able to walk away from the crash uninjured.
“Whether you’re flying, riding, driving, or just out enjoying the day—stay sharp, think ahead, and get home safe to the people who love you,” Fire District 2 said in a social media post.
