SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A brush fire south of Liberty Lake prompted evacuations overnight.
According to Spokane County Fire District 8, the fire began just after 2 a.m. Sunday morning on Qunimose Road near Broken Lance Lane.
Level 3 (GO NOW!) evacuations were issued in the area at the time and more firefighters were called in from the Spokane Valley Fire Department, Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, Newman Lake Fire and Rescue and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire and save the homes in the area. All Level 3 evacuations have been downgraded to Level 1 (Get Ready). You can see the latest on evacuation information by clicking here.
The fire was estimated to have burned just over 11 acres. No injuries were reported.
