CHENEY, Wash. – The Eastern Washington Eagles (4-15, 2-4) almost toppled the top of the Big Sky, falling 65-61 to the Portland State Vikings (12-5, 6-0) after a late comeback fell short.
EWU trailed by 10 inside 12 minutes to play, but closed the gap to a tie at 50 around the five-minute mark. PSU would then score the next four points and keep a healthy lead until the end.
Isaiah Moses led the Eags with 22 points, his fifth-straight game scoring 20+ points.
EWU snapped a nine-game home winning streak against Portland State.
The Eags next host the Sacramento State Hornets this Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
