SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Washington State Cougars (8-13, 3-5) couldn’t find their way out of an 18-point deficit, falling 96-92 to the San Diego Toreros (9-12, 3-5).
Offensively, WSU played a sound game. Freshman Ace Glass added 29 points and seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. ND Okafor tacked on 21, and Rihards Vavers healed from a head injury to deliver 16.
Defensively, WSU played a very poor game. San Diego scored their most points in any non-overtime game since 2007, and even including overtime, 2018.
Louisville transfer Ty-Laur Johnson led the Toreros with a career-high 28 points.
WSU next hosts WCC last-place Pepperdine this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
