SPOKANE, Wash. — Two local elementary schools were recently recognized for their work in making their school communities healthier!
In early August, Spokane Public Schools’ Audubon Elementary School and Mullan Road Elementary School were named two of America’s Healthiest Schools in 2025 by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation.
Alliance for a Healthier Generation works with schools and other organizations to build healthier communities that support children’s physical, social and emotional health.
Only four schools in Washington received the honor.
Schools are awarded for implementing best practices to support the health of staff, students and families through various areas such as, improving nutrition, strengthening social-emotional health and learning, supporting school health services and cultivating staff well-being.
Audubon was recognized for their work in School Health Services, Nutrition & Food Access, Physical Education & Activity, Health Education, Social-Emotional Health & Learning, Staff Well-Being and Family & Community Engagement.
Mullan Road earned honors for School Health Services, Physical Education & Activity, Health Education, Social-Emotional Health & Learning and Staff Well-Being.
