SPOKANE, Wash – If you hoped to cap off summer with a kayak or paddle trip down the Little Spokane River, you likely won’t be able to access the river in popular areas.
The Little Spokane River Natural Area, Painted Rocks and the St. George’s put-in all remain closed due to damage caused by the fires in early August. This includes the Little Spokane River Water Trail.
Signs at the St. George’s put-in Wednesday confirm the closure, with burned and damaged hillsides nearby.
You can find updated closure information and other information about wildfire recovery in Washington State Parks at this link.
