SPOKANE, Washington — Washington voters have less than two weeks to submit their ballots in the primary election, making registration and voting deadlines urgent priorities.
Monday July 27th marks the final day for people to register to vote online or submit mail-in registration forms. After that deadline, registration must occur in person at a county elections office or voter service center.
The primary election will determine outcomes on several significant local and regional issues. Voters will decide on library levies, Spokane Transit funding measures, and multiple legislative races that will shape representation in the state capital.
Vicky Dalton, Spokane County Auditor, emphasized the importance of using ballot drop boxes rather than the U.S. Postal Service in the week leading up to the ballot deadline.
“We like to remind people is that starting about a week before the election, which is the 27th, to start putting your ballots into the drop box rather than the U.S. postal service. It does take the Postal Service longer now to deliver ballots,” Dalton said.
If a voter discovers a problem with their ballot, they can contact their county elections office to request a replacement. You can find a county elections office near you through here.
Voters can verify their registration status, track their ballot once it has been mailed, and locate nearby drop box locations by visiting VoteWA.gov. The website provides real-time information to help voters navigate the election process and meet all necessary deadlines.
