CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office recovered human remains from the Columbia River near Rock Island Dam on Monday, July 20, according to officials.
Deputies responded to a report at approximately 7:38 p.m. and confirmed the discovery. Detectives and personnel from the Chelan County Coroner’s Office then recovered the remains by marine unit.
The Coroner’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the identity of the deceased.
Investigators have ruled out the remains belonging to missing 18-year-old Erik Luna of Bridgeport.
