SPOKANE, Wash – People living in Spokane County woke up again to haze and smoke Tuesday, with air quality readings in the unhealthy range for many in the Inland Northwest.
The air quality index in Spokane was at 129 at 8 am Tuesday. That’s in the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” range.
It’s expected to stay that way throughout the day.
Organizers of some events in Spokane are canceling for the day, including Riverfront Eats.
Kendall Yards has also cancelled Wednesday’s Night Market due to heat and poor air quality.
Smoke is drifting in from several fires in eastern Washington, specifically the Kaiser Canyon Fire burning near Nespelem.
