CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington has been picked to finish eighth in both the Big Sky Conference coaches and media preseason polls ahead of the 2026 football season.
The Eagles are looking to bounce back after a 5-7 record last year and return 11 starters from that squad. Among them are preseason All-Americans Jaylon Jenkins and Isaiah Perez, while quarterback Jake Schakel is back after making five starts during the 2025 season.
Eastern opens the season on August 29 at Northern Arizona before returning to Cheney for its home opener against Northern Iowa.
