MOSCOW, ID – The Idaho Vandals have been picked to finish seventh in the Big Sky Conference preseason coaches poll ahead of the 2026 season. The coaches slotted Idaho behind Southern Utah and just ahead of Eastern Washington.
Head coach Thomas Ford Jr. enters his second season in Moscow with optimism after bringing in a highly touted recruiting class and adding 21 transfers. The Vandals also return dual-threat quarterback Joshua Wood, who is coming off one of the best rushing seasons by an Idaho quarterback in program history.
Idaho opens the 2026 season on August 28 with a conference matchup at Cal Poly.
