SPOKANE, Wash. — Music fans descended on downtown Spokane on Saturday for the inaugural “Blessing in Disguise” Music Festival.
The single-day festival spans four stages across Spokane Stadium and the Podium, bringing together headliners including Macklemore and Mother Mother. The event represents three years of planning and preparation by city officials and organizers.
Doors opened at 12:30 p.m., with musical performances beginning an hour later. The festival continued throughout the day and into the evening, with the final act scheduled to conclude before midnight.
Even before the festival officially began, crowds lined up along barricades at the stages, eager to catch performances. Early attendees bopped their heads to the music as the band Jaws of Brooklyn took the stage, setting an energetic tone for the day.
Festival attendees embraced the atmosphere, sharing smiles with one another while exploring the variety of local vendors and snack shacks scattered throughout the venue. Emma and Katie Chilcote, who attended the festival, expressed their enthusiasm for the event.
“Oh my god I love it. It’s so exciting, there’s so many places to go and so many bands to meet and I’m very excited because I love all of them,” Emma and Katie said.
The festival brings together community members from across the region, creating an opportunity for locals to enjoy live music and support local businesses. Vendors and food options provided attendees with entertainment and dining choices throughout the day.
