SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks now have a new owner, and one who paid a record-shattering amount.
Tech billionaire Vinod Khosla bought the Seahawks for a record $9.6 billion, securing new ownership from the late Paul Allen.
This deal breaks the Washington Commanders’ $6.05 billion from Daniel Snyder to Josh Harris, and Kholsa already owns a small stake in Seattle’s NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers.
The India-born Khosla earned his wealth through co-founding Sun Microsystems in 1982. The 71-year-old has a Forbes-estimated net worth of $15.6 billion.
