LOS ANGELES, Calif – Former Zag Rui Hachimura is changing teams, but staying in Los Angeles.
According to ESPN, the power forward reached a two year, $28 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Clippers will be Hachimura’s third NBA team since being drafted in 2019.
He played first for the Washington Wizards, then went to the Lakers in 2023.
Hachimura was a fan favorite during his time with Gonzaga from 2016-2019.
He was the first Japanese national to play in the NCAA tournament.
ESPN reports Hachimura turned down offers from the Warriors, Timberwolves, Nets and Spurs because he wanted to stay in L.A.
