FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Velocity FC couldn’t overcome an early deficit Saturday, falling 3-0 to Fort Wayne FC on the road.
Taig Healy opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Jeremy Garay doubled Fort Wayne’s advantage just before halftime with a goal in the 44th minute. Lilian Ricol capped the scoring by converting a penalty kick in the 48th minute.
Velocity generated chances but couldn’t break through offensively, while Fort Wayne made the most of its opportunities to remain unbeaten in league play.
The defeat drops Velocity to 7-2-5 on the season; the team still sits in sixth place in the USL League 1 Table and will be back in action against Oakland on July 11th.
