SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A three-vehicle hit-and-run crash injured multiple people and partially blocked Highway 27 in Spokane Valley around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The suspect fled the scene but was located and taken into custody near Bowdish and Valleyway.
Investigators, detectives, and drug recognition experts are working both scenes. Drugs or alcohol are believed to be involved, according to WSP.
Highway 27 southbound near 24th Avenue is reduced to one lane in each direction, according to the Washington State
Department of Transportation. WSDOT and WSP began diverting traffic at 4:50 p.m. and lane restrictions are expected to remain in place until approximately 9 p.m. while WSP conducts its collision investigation.
Drivers should use alternate routes and expect delays.
