SHOSHONE COUNTY, Idaho — Evacuation orders remain in place for Elizabeth Park and Big Creek as firefighters work to contain a wildfire that has burned approximately 235 acres, officials said Wednesday evening.
Evacuation decisions are based on current and anticipated fire conditions, weather forecasts, terrain, available routes, and public safety.
The next evaluation of evacuation levels follows a 6:30 a.m. Incident Command meeting Thursday morning, with any changes communicated through official channels.
Idaho Department of Lands fire personnel confirmed the 235-acre estimate.
Power has been restored to Osburn and Kellogg, though residents must wait for official notification before returning to evacuated areas.
Officials warn against bypassing barricades or entering restricted zones.
Drones are prohibited over the fire area. Unauthorized drone activity can ground firefighting aircraft, delaying suppression efforts and endangering crews.
The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to sign up for Hyper-Reach emergency notifications, build a family evacuation plan, and prepare emergency supplies in advance.
