COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A judge sentenced a Coeur d’Alene man to almost four years in federal prison for firearms charges.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 53-year-old Shawn Allen Cline was arrested last year during a probation check at his home in Coeur d’Alene.
During the search, law enforcement found Cline in his garage with a beer in one hand and a marijuana pipe in his other. Officers then searched the home and found a shotgun, a homemade shotgun, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a homemade pipe bomb.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Cline admitted to making the bomb and said he wanted to blow stuff up. The Spokane Bomb Squad confirmed the bomb was lethal and disarmed it.
Cline is prohibited for owning firearms due to several prior felony convictions.
Cline was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison along with three years of supervised release.
