OLYMPIA, Wash – Gonzaga Prep won the 4A WIAA Scholastic Cup for the first time in school history. Freeman took home the title for 2B schools.
The three other GSL 4A teams also finished in the top 10. Mead was third, Lewis and Clark was fourth and Ferris finished 8th.
WIAA awards the Scholastic Cup for performance in the classroom and the playing field. Schools also earn points for performance in drill, dance, drama, forensics and music.
The WIAA awards points for finishes in respective athletic performances, along with points awarded for academics and sportsmanship.
Mt Spokane finished 4th among 3A schools.
Freeman was joined in the top 10 for 2B schools by Northwest Christian (5th), Reardan (8th) and Davenport (10th).
Almira Coulee Hartline finished 2nd for 1B schools, along with Garfield-Palouse (4th) and Valley Christian (5th).
