POST FALLS, Idaho — Two Washington women were arrested early Monday morning after Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a vehicle search at a Post Falls gas station.
Deputies contacted the occupants of a vehicle parked at a gas station near the intersection of West Riverbend Avenue and West Pointe Parkway at approximately 2 a.m. on June 8.
During the contact, deputies observed illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in plain view, providing probable cause for a vehicle search.
Deputies found methamphetamine and marijuana throughout the vehicle, including a bag labeled “Smelly Proof” containing approximately 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine.
Laurie J. Wainwright, 65, of Washougal, Washington, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jeannie L. Sanders, 66, also of Washougal, Washington, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
