EVERETT, Wash. – It’s the end of the road of an incredible season for the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups, as they fall 7-0 to the Sumner Spartans in the WIAA 4A State Finals.
The runner-up placement is the best in the history of the G-Prep program, as they fell short of the ultimate goal of state baseball champs, a title never taken by a Greater Spokane League team since the WIAA sanctioned the tournament in 1973.
Senior Jack Pierce earned two hits in today’s defensive battle, the Pups only hitting three all game.
Gonzaga Prep finishes the season with an impressive 23-5 record.
