SPOKANE, Wash – The Spokane County Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to support renaming the I-90 overpass at Four Lakes to honor a sergeant killed in the area last summer.
Sgt. Kenneth Salas served the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office for more than 30 years.
He was weeks away from retirement last summer when he was killed while responding to a traffic hazard on I-90.
The county commissioners approved a measure Tuesday to send a request to the Washington State Transportation Commission that would rename the overpass in his honor.
