SPOKANE, Wash – Emergency responders searched by water and ground Wednesday for several people who may have jumped into the Spokane River.
The Spokane Fire Department says reports came in of people jumping off the railroad bridge near Gonzaga University.
By the time fire crews arrived, one man was out of the water and on the shore. He was taken to the hospital.
Fire crews searched downstream to see if they could find anyone else, but did not.
Emergency responders cleared the scene about an hour later.
