SPOKANE, Wash – World Cup fever will take over much of the country this summer and Spokane can celebrate without leaving home.
The Seattle FIFA World Cup committee designated Spokane as one of the nine communities, serving as official fan zones for this summer’s event.
“All over Washington State, from Bellingham to Vancouver, from Bremerton to Spokane, we are thrilled to announce these official fan zone locations that will bring the World Cup experience to every corner of Washington State,” said Peter Tomozawa, CEO of SeattleFWC26. “These fan zones represent our commitment to making this a truly statewide celebration. Whether you’re joining at the waterfront in Everett or Olympia, or cheering in Tacoma, the Tri-Cities or Yakima, every fan will have the chance to be part of this once-in-a-generation event.”
Spokane’s Fan Zone is at the Gesa Pavilion in Riverfront Park.
“Spokane is honored to host a SeattleFWC26 Fan Zone, uniting our community around the world’s game,” said Ashley Blake, CEU of Spokane Sports. “Alongside our partners at Visit Spokane and the City of Spokane, we’re building an electric atmosphere that showcases the spirit of our region.”
Other fan zones are: Bellingham, Bremerton, Everett, Olympia-Lacy, Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Tri-Cities, Vancouver and Yakima.
Seattle will host six World Cup games, starting June 11.
