SEATTLE, Wash – The Seattle Seahawks are one win away from a trip to the Super Bowl, but they’ll have to do it without a key player on the offense.
Seahawks Head Coach Mike McDonald announced Monday running back Zach Charbonnet will miss the rest of the post-season with a “significant knee injury” suffered in Saturday’s win over the 49ers.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter cited a source that told him Charbonnet tore his ACL.
“He’s going to need surgery,” McDonald said. “He’s got a good long road to come back.”
Charbonnet is the Seahawks’ second-leading rusher this season, with 730 yards and 12 touchdowns in the regular season.
He had five carries for 20 yards in Saturday’s game before getting hurt in the first half.
The Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams Sunday in the NFC championship game.
