COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – The water in Lake Coeur d’Alene was around 35 degrees on New Year’s Day and the air temperature was even cooler, but it didn’t stop hundreds of people from plunging in as part of an annual tradition.
People have gathered for decades on the shore at Sanders Beach to take part in the annual Polar Plunge.
This year was no different, with people of all ages stripping down and running headlong into the water.
Organizers of the event said online that this is the 30th year of the Coeur d’Alene tradition.
