COLFAX, Washington – A man who works as a janitor for two Pullman elementary schools faces child rape and child molestation charges.
Pullman Police arrested Eric Anthony Robins Tuesday.
While officers noted his employment at the school district in their investigation, the alleged victim is not someone Robins met through or because of his job.
The affidavit of probable cause says a woman came forward, saying Robins molested her child.
The child is not identified by name in court documents but is not a stranger to Robins.
A forensic interviewer spoke to the child, who gave specifics about what Robins allegedly does to the child while on his lunch break from working at Jefferson and Sunnyside Elementary Schools.
The child said the abuse had gone on for several years.
Pullman Police confronted Robins Tuesday outside of Jefferson Elementary and he agreed to speak with them.
Police say Robins denied the allegations. He told police they could search his residence, and he also handed over his cell phone and provided his passcode to open the phone.
Police booked Robins into the Whitman County Jail for first degree rape of a child and first-degree child molestation.
Robins appeared before a judge Wednesday, who set his bond at $200,000. If he posts bond, he can’t go within 1,000 feet of his alleged victim.
In the affidavit of probable cause, Pullman Police say Robins has a criminal history that includes arrests for aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a firearm.
