SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks won what may be the best Thursday Night Football game ever played.
The Seahawks won 38-37 in overtime following a 16-point comeback within just two and a half fourth-quarter minutes. Rashid Shaheed sparked that run with a 58-yard punt return touchdown.
Zach Charbonnet scored the opening touchdown of the game, but his best moment was Seattle’s game-tying two-point attempt. A backwards Sam Darnold pass attempt bounced off a Rams defender’s head, bounced forward into the endzone, and Charbonnet picked up the ball, resulting in a good try after review.
The Seahawks had just a 1.2% chance to win inside 10 minutes to go, according to ESPN.
Los Angeles is the first team to lose a game since 1975 (79-1) while picking up over 450 yards of offense, not turning the ball over or allowing a sack, and forcing three or more turnovers.
Seattle currently has the No. 1 seed in the NFC and winning out would lock up the NFC West and the top seed.
The Seahawks play at the Carolina Panthers next Sunday at an undetermined time.
