SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – A strong second-half rally wouldn’t be enough to lift Washington State (1-11) over Seton Hall (7-4), as the Pirates beat the Cougars, 74-65.
The Cougs shaved down a 25-point deficit to just three inside the final 90 seconds but missed their final three shots to fall by nine.
Eleonora Villa again led WSU in scoring with 17 points, also adding a team-high five assists. Keandra Koorits scored 14 points, her most since a career-high in the season-opener against Idaho.
Wazzu closes their non-conference schedule at the Penn Quakers this Friday at 8:00 a.m. PST.
