CLARK FORK, Idaho – Emergency responders and road crews are working around the clock in North Idaho, responding to flooding and washed-out areas in Bonner County.
The town of Clark Fork, east of Sandpoint near the Montana border, has been especially hard hit.
Emergency responders have encouraged people to evacuate in certain areas.
They’ve gone door to foor in the Spring Creek area, as several roads are now impassable.
Clark Fork Fire and Rescue says the Army Corps of Engineers will be on site Friday, hoping to make roads passable.
People living in Clark Fork should boil water until further notice. They’ve placed a potable water tank in the parking lot of Cabinet Mountain Bar and Grill if people need clean drinking water.
Bonner County Commissioner Ron Kern said first responders are working with Bonner County Road and Bridge, trying to save as many roads as they can from washing out.
Bonner County Emergency Management has sandbags available at the Clark Fork Solid Waste site.
