PULLMAN, Wash – One week after the departure of football coach Jimmy Rogers, Washington State University has apparently hired his replacement
Reports from CBS Sports, ESPN and others say Washington State University will welcome current Missouri Tigers Offensive Coordinator Kirby Moore as the next head football coach.
Moore is from Washington and graduated from Prosser High School. He played wide receiver at Boise State.
He first coached at the College of Idaho 11 years ago, then spent time at Washington and Fresno State before joining Mizzou in 2023.
Moore dramatically improved Missouri’s third down conversion rates, red zone offense, and turnovers lost. He also helped the Tigers to three-straight seasons ranked in the College Football Playoff poll for the first time in program history.
He comes from a football family. His dad Tom coached for 23 years at Prosser High School. His brother Kellen was an All-American at Boise State and a Heisman Trophy Finalist.
Kellen Moore now coaches the New Orleans Saints in the NFL.
Moore would replace Rogers who spent just one season at WSU. He’s now the head coach at Iowa State.
