SHOSHONE COUNTY, Wash. — Emergency responders rescued three people from their flooded home in Kingston Thursday morning after rapidly rising floodwaters trapped them inside their residence.
Silver Valley Fire Rescue, working with the Shoshone County Ambulance Service District and the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, conducted the water rescue approximately eight miles up Coeur d’Alene River Road at around 11 a.m.
Two adults and one child were unable to evacuate due to swift-moving, rapidly rising floodwaters.
Members of Silver Valley Fire Rescue’s Swift Water Rescue Team used the district’s recently acquired rescue boat to reach all three occupants and transport them safely to higher ground.
Additional firefighters and sheriff’s personnel provided support throughout the operation.
No injuries were reported.
