SPOKANE, Wash – Three of the people charged with trying to injure federal officers during an ICE protest in Spokane last June will change their pleas to guilty.
Mikki Hatfield has a change of plea hearings schedule for Wednesday.
Former Spokane City Council president Ben Stuckart will change his plea next Monday.
Collin Muncey will change his plea December 9th.
There’s no further information in court files about whether the original charges will be modified as part of a plea agreement.
Stuckart and Hatfield were among nine people charged in connection with the protest.
The protest arose after Stuckart alerted the community that several people who were in the United States seeking asylum had been detained and were going to be transported to an ICE facility in western Washington for deportation.
What began as a small protest outside the ICE facility just north of the Spokane River turned into a large protest, blocking the streets for several hours.
Federal agents say Hatfield, Muncey and others placed objects in front of doors to keep agents and detainees from leaving the facility.
Stuckart is accused of blocking the pathway and door to the transport bus.
