LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. — Fire crews made progress on a wildfire burning near the border of Lincoln and Spokane County.
According to the Department of Natural Resources, the Crescent Road Fire is currently estimated to be around 779 acres with no containment.
Dozer lines, handlines and natural barriers have been used to slow the spread of the fire.
The fire was first reported around 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Devil’s Gap Road area. The fire initially spread east and fire behavior lowered overnight as winds slowed down and humidity increased.
A state mobilization request was approved around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, which allows for additional resources. Those additional resources will arrive throughout Thursday and into Friday.
