LOON LAKE, Wash. — A brand new library is set to open next month in Stevens County.
The Loon Lake Library will have its grand opening ceremony on August 16 at 11 a.m. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and light refreshments. The new library is located at 3988 Highway 292 in Loon Lake.
The Libraries of Stevens County says construction on the library began in August of last year. The building is over 4,900 square feet, replacing the old 800-square-foot library that was too small to meet the community’s needs.
The new library has a larger book collection, improved technology access, improved administration and staff areas and two public meeting rooms. The large community room can be reserved for after-hours and weekend use.
