SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane now has a special day to celebrate children and those who support them in the community.
After a unanimous vote by the Spokane City Council, June 22, 2025 will be ‘Kid’s Day!’
The celebration is meant to recognize children’s contributions to families and communities and honor educators, childcare workers, advocates and others who work with children. To mark the occasion, Riverfront Park will offer free admission to The Skyride, Skate Ribbon and Looff Carrousel for children aged 12 and under.
“This is a perfect opportunity for families to take part in all the fun that Riverfront Park has to offer,” said Council Member Lili Navarrete. “I especially encourage those who normally couldn’t for financial reasons to take advantage of the free amenities for children. I’m proud to have brought this idea forward and want to give a giant thank you to the team at Riverfront Park, as well as our sponsors, for making it a reality. This truly wouldn’t be possible without their amazing work and dedication to the community.”
With Park Board approval, the event will become an annual celebration at Riverfront Park.
