INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander took over in the fourth quarter, carrying the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 12-1 run over the final three minutes, completing a comeback and evening the NBA Finals at 2-2.
The Indiana Pacers held a second-half lead as large as 10, but they faltered in the final stretch, shooting 0-5 with three missed free throws in those last few minutes.
Former Gonzaga Bulldog Chet Holmgren had his best game this series, leading the Thunder with 15 rebounds, four on the offensive glass. He added 14 points and a block and steal.
The Pacers played one of their best defensive games of the postseason through the first three quarters, outscoring Oklahoma City in all three, plus holding the Thunder to 3-17 from deep over the whole game. Three three-pointers made is a season low for OKC.
Game 5 in Oklahoma City is Monday at 5:30 p.m.
