SPOKANE, Wash. — Community members gathered on Tuesday to honor the lives of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in Washington.
This was the 37th annual law enforcement memorial ceremony. At the ceremony, one name was added to the memorial wall outside the Spokane Public Safety building.
“I want you to hear this: your service matters. It is honorable. It is necessary. Even when the cost feels too high, you are not alone. You are part of a profession bound by purpose, sacrifice and a deep shared commitment,” said Meg DiBucci with the Behind the Badge Foundation.
The ceremony featured a flyover by the Spokane Regional Air Support Unit, the presentation of colors by the honor guard and the national anthem by the Lilac City Voices.
